One of the most notable of teen pop stars, Debbie Gibson, (born Deborah Ann Gibson, Aug. 31, 1970, Brooklyn, N.Y., United States), also known as Deborah Gibson, scored nine U.S. top 40 hits between 1987 and 1990, including two number ones. Her 1987 debut album Out of the Blue spawned five charting singles on the Billboard Hot 100: “Only in My Dreams” (#4), “Shake Your Love” (#4), “Out of the Blue” (#3), “Foolish Beat” (#1) and “Staying Together” (#22).
