1) Di-rect is a Dutch alternative rock band formed in October 1999 in The Hague, The Netherlands. The band consists of singer Marcel Veenendaal, guitarist Frans van Zoest, drummer Jamie Westland, pianist Vince van Reeken and bassplayer Bas van Wageningen.
The band started in 1999 when 15 year old Jamie Westland (drums) asked his father Dick to help him set up a band. Three other teenagers joined him which are Tim Akkerman (vocals)
